Unable to ship rechargable battery packs with drills. Hoping to ship drills and place batteries in my luggage. Is this feasable? Legal?

  1. Yes, but don’t put them in your check bag.

  2. On a train, on a boat; however if you have to travel by airplane, wrap them and put them in your check-in luggage. better yet, call the airline and see if it is allowed. if it is not> They will open your luggage and every port you transit, they might put you through intense screening. Just think of what batteries are used for OK?

  3. Yes, you can take them.
Cordless portable power drills are listed as items that may be travel on airplanes as checked baggage, but not in your carry-on bag. Presumably this includes the batteries.

  4. Are you crazy? NO way, have you ever heard of Fed ex? Ship those items! Or buy them when you get there! Stop jerking our chain. I I caught you trying to do that cavity search, and it would not be pretty!

  5. I think you can because my family got a X-Box on to the plane.

  6. I wouldnt.

  7. Yes, its legal, provided its packed in the unaccompanied baggage (cargo luggage). Airlines strictly don’t allow to take drills (sharp objects) or battery packs in cabin baggage (ie. the luggage carried by you in flight)

  8. I’d almost bet that’s on the “no go” list. Sometimes those things tend to crack and leak and even burst on their own , who knows what high altitude would cause.

  9. There are new FAA regulations on the transport of certain types of batteries. Check with the airline before you try to take these along, either as a carry-on or as checked luggage. Also you need to contact the carrier if you ship these, like with FedEx or UPS, as they may be classified as “dangerous goods” and have to be specially packaged and shipped.
