no because I own a Porter Cable
what does it sound like, something grinding or just something loose in it, i have never had a problem with one and i have three of them….but look to see if you have a dewalt service center near to you and take it there i too have a lot of the makita drills to 9.6 and 12 volts hard to find batterys for them now but i found the dewalts have a lot more power to get things done……..take care
I owned a Mikita cordless drill. The best I have owned and have owned many. My son got mad and threw it onto a concrete floor. Not good. Broke into several pieces. Smile
I now own three dewalt cordless drills. Have had to rebuild two of them.
Tools today are not as well made as even 20 years ago. There are many versions of the dewalt. Some of the cheaper ones are not so well made.
If still under warantee take/send it back. If not if you dare, take it apart and repair it if possible. If it is the motor, and you have an air compressor, blow it out. You may have gotten something in the motor fan.
Hisemiester.
Dewalt is just overpriced Black and Decker
